SESSION PLAN:

I find the best results when I am working with players who are passionate about tennis and are goal oriented. This can include players of all talents and abilities (beginner - advanced player), and these goals can range from improving your game to becoming a professional. I have a holistic approach (mind, body, and spirit) to tennis, and I operate my sessions accordingly. The first lesson will center around evaluating the player, and after this we can collaborate on a plan for future lessons based on the players goals and my insights on their game.

TYPICAL LESSON:

In a typical hour long private session, I will start with a brief conversation about how the practices went between sessions and what the student would like to focus on for that lesson. At the end of the first session, I will show each student some yoga based stretches to do, so they can cool down and recover from the workout.

Lessons will vary based on the students skill set and ability. For beginners, I start trying to develop proficiency with footwork and groundstrokes first.  Often times, people believe that stroke production is paramount in tennis, but my belief is if you cannot get your body in position to hit the ball then you cannot hit it properly.  Once footwork and groundstrokes have improved, I begin to focus on serves, volleys, overheads, and slices. For more advanced players, we will focus on fine tuning their strokes and footwork, while also developing better strategy and conditioning.
