AboutRyan

BIO:

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and have spent the majority of my life here, save for a few years of college in San Francisco and Riverside.  I love all sports and have played many of them competitively including high school soccer, track and field, and baseball.  In addition to sports, I enjoy playing piano, harmonica, guitar and writing music.  Yoga, Dostoyevsky, and documentaries complete me.  In my free time I enjoy listening to live music and watching films.

COACHING EXPERIENCE:

I have been coaching tennis for the last five years in the greater Los Angeles area. I have coached private lessons as well as group lessons and have also coached a high school team (Loyola High School of Los Angeles). I have worked with a wide range of ages and skill levels, starting with kids as young as 5 years old and teaching adults well into the 70s. I have worked with top ranked junior players, kids who have never picked up a racket before, and recreational adult players looking to improve their game.

PLAYING EXPERIENCE:

I played tennis on the Southern California Junior Circuit and in high school at Loyola High School of Los Angeles. After graduation from high school, I played two years of tennis at Glendale Community College before attending UC Riverside and playing tennis at a Division 1 school in the Big West Conference. I started in both singles and doubles during both of my seasons at UCR. After college I played in Local Men’s Open Prize Money Tournaments throughout California, as well as playing for a professional team, TC Wolfratshausen in the 3rd Division outside of Munich, Germany. I have also traveled throughout the United States and Canada playing ITF Pro Futures tournaments in both singles and doubles.
